21 Days of Prayer & Fasting

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:19

God is about to do a new thing. This new work will be so magnificent; it will cause his people to worship him like never before. If God is going to do a new thing, then it is going to involve His people- you and me. We are not to be spectators watching from the sidelines. We are to participate in the new work. God wants to take the “new thing” and work it in us and through us to see His glory fill the earth. This goes far beyond an emotional pursuit that lasts for a couple of weeks. What God desires to bring forth will change history. It will be unshakable, long lasting, created in our life and thought. It will be something that is workable and practical for us. Are you open to the new thing the Lord has planned? Are you willing to embrace it?

In order to position ourselves to embrace the new work the entire church is going to 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting, January 5-26. This is a call for God to “UNLEASH” His power, His promise and His potential in our lives. I guarantee this season of fasting and prayer will be the most exciting, challenging, and intense time of the year- both for you individually, and for our entire church.

Join us on Sunday, January 5 at 6pm at Lighthouse Worship Center for a brief evening of instruction and inspiration to help kick-off this 21-Day event.

How can you join the 21-Day experience?

1. Make a personal commitment to fast during the 21 days of January 5-26. Here at Lighthouse we recommend juice fasting for part of or the entire 21 days. More information will be available on fasting on kick off night.

2. In preparation for the fast, read Psalm 51, 1Samuel 15 and Isaiah 58. These Bible passages explain that God is not interested in our pious sacrifices for Him, but in our obedience and willingness to do what he asks. God wants us to become more like Him. That requires letting go of our own agenda and being “remade” to look, act, and think like Him. That requires time, attention, and discipline.

3. Mark your calendars for weekly prayer gatherings. We will be using Wednesday nights as an opportunity to pray into the “new thing” that the Lord desires. This will be focused prayer that will lift your spirits and empower you for the journey. Please make an effort to attend this gathering, but also feel free to organize your own prayer times at home or with your Life Group.

4. Pause for prayer every day at 7:14am and 7:14pm. As another way to unify our church during the 21 days, we are encouraging the entire church to pause for prayer at 7:14am + 7:14pm every day. We chose this time based of 2 Chronicles 7:14, which says, “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heave, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” This is a simple way to begin and end your day with prayer.

Pastor Ken will provide a weekly devotional thought and prayer to unify our church during this time of prayer and fasting. Use the form below to subscribe.
